Introduction - Governor's War is a series of events that occur periodically in the Grand Mafia. Each season consists of several events made by various collections of teams on a specific map. Each event accrues points for each team and each group and at the end of the season, the groups, teams, and individuals who participated in the Governor's War are granted progression as well as ranking rewards.
Seasons 1 and 2 - are for early cities. Matching is based on each city acting as a group against the other cities. The cities selected are contiguous city numbers.
Registration - Any player that is part of a team that is registered for GW1 or GW2 by the seventh day of the event can participate.
Season 3 - Season three uses a new map and additionally changes how teams are selected to participate in GW.
Registration - [Season of Chaos (GW4)] - Season of Chaos occurs with all cities that are past all immigration controls. There are multiple available Season of Chaos maps each season.
Registration -
To register for Season of Chaos, your team must be active, have a minimum of 10M influence, and your Mansion must be at level 17.
All players must be a member of a registered team on the final registration day.
Members must stay on this team for three hours following reset.
Once registered, a map and group are selected (but not revealed) for each team.
Players can change teams after being assigned to a map, but are locked to this specific map for the entire season.
Blood Treaty - Blood Treaty is the most commonly played map, and is the default map teams are registered for if the R5/R4's do not specifically choose another map.
Land of Oil - In Land of Oil, the use of Oil resources to recruit Mercenary Units are introduced.
The normal "Cop Raids" and "Cops Counter Attack" events are replaced with "Oil Thief Hideouts" and "Oil Thieves Counterattack" that appear to be a 1:1 functionally equivalent reskin.
Each turf has two new buildings - an Oil Rig and a Mercenary Camp, both appear in the water above/behind the mansion.
Oil Rig - The Oil Rig generates oil every hour for your turf and is also where you can research improvements to Mercenary strength as well as oil production and robbery improvements.
Mercenary Camp
The Mercenary Camp produces Mercenary units. Improving the building increases the rate that Mercenaries are trained as well as increases the maximum Mercenary Capacity for your turf.
The Camp is also where you assign jobs to your Mercenaries and heal them from the Mercenary Camp Hospital.
Fall of Order - In Fall of Order, teams can navigate between map locations via rivers by controlling docks.
Last Stand - Last Stand is the newest Governor's War map, introduced in January 2024. This map introduces various new buildings that provide various buffs to the team occupying them with options to customize the buff received. Additionally, faster buildings are occupied and the more checkpoints a team occupies will impact their ability to choose to open gates to new areas earlier than other factions.
Governor's War Event Rotations - Governor's War rotates between The Strongest Leader and Faction Hegemony events every 5 days. The events are distinct, but very similar.
The Strongest Leader / Faction Hegemony Rotation - The Governor's War schedule will alternate between The Strongest Leader and Faction Hegemony throughout the season. In total, five rounds of The Strongest Leader and four rounds of Faction Hegemony will complete before the final 3-day "display period" where the daily event will just show the display period for the final Massacre Day.
